As you know, life-continuation and survival of humans and living beings depends on the environment, and at present, issue of environment and nature, especially its importance for the life-continuation for humans is known and significant.  Nature and environment are set of different elements of soil, water, wind, plants, animals and humans, which are connected like a regular chain, and endangering each of them will lead to disruption of the order in this chain.

Statistics express that the world produces 305 million tons of waste or garbage per day, and garbage and plastic bags make up a large amount of waste, which has led to a major problem for humans.  “Plastic” is this innovative achievement over time and due to the need for a 1000 years to decompose a serious threat to the environment.  Another destructive effect of plastic on the ecosystem is the issue of drought and visual pollution, which will affect the Iranian tourism industry.

Two programs of “Kootook Company” to protect the environment

The first is the “No to Plastics” program to produce less CO2 to protect the environment, which will run from January 2020.

Short-term project

  • Use of metal thermoses by tourists during their travel to Iran
  • Using pottery glasses from women’s handicraft products under the empowerment project of women-headed households in Bam city
  • Use of glasses made of corn and recyclable
  • Use cloth bags to buy and visit tourist sites (from handicraft products of women-headed households in Bam city)

Long-term project

  • Use of accommodations that support environmental projects.

Planting program by foreign tourists with their participation

 Arboriculture is an opportunity to preserve the tree as a God-given gift; A valuable asset that has key role in human life by preserving air, water and soil and provides the oxygen needed by all living things.

Tree planting issue and environmental protection should be formed as a culture and the importance of agriculture and farming to clean the environment and community health and desertification should be institutionalized.

Acceleration of desert development in Iran is such that over the past few years, a large number of plains and wetlands in Iran have become the source of dust, and desertification speed in Iran is a very worrying and noteworthy issue.

Seeing the landscapes of trees and nature as a divine gift polishes the heart and man’s soul and rules peace in his heart, and also has many benefits for humans and living beings, which necessitates doubles the preservation and maintenance of these divine blessings. Due to the important role of nature in creating a lively life in Iran, March 5 to 12 has been called “Natural Resources Week” and the first day has been named “Tree Planting Day” and Nature Restoration Day in the calendar.  Every person can plant at least saplings in the ground with his green and powerful hands, thanks to gratitude for divine blessings, so that he will witness the results in this land in the coming years.

To achieve this aim and based on this plan, we have purchased a piece of desert and dry land and provided it to foreign tourists to plant seedlings.  Due to the climate of Bam city, we considered date palm for this project.

Dates are the most important souvenirs and symbol of Bam city and every year in September, which is known as the month of date makers, Bam date festival is held and its booths, products and by-products are offered to tourists and travelers.

 Local women of Bam city prepare various foods from date fruits, including: juice, chocolate, various sweets, etc., as well as various handicrafts from date fibers.
