Giveh is a light cotton summer shoe which is one of the genuine Iranian shoes and handicrafts manufactured and used in various parts of Iran. The major selling of this Kurdish shoe often takes place in Kurdish markets. Giveh is a type of shoe or footwear that is also considered as an Iranian handicraft. It is made in various parts of Iran.
Giveh is often sewn by women using a variety of needles. In the past, in areas such as Kurdistan, because of the mountains, the weather, the impassable areas and jobs such as animal husbandry and agriculture, people were highly mobile. So their shoes would have to be light, comfortable, durable and cool. That is why the people of this region produced Giveh. The cheapness of these shoes is another main reason that they are so popular. These shoes are used in the spring, summer and fall seasons.
Hurami Giveh is a traditional hand-made shoe made from natural and environmentally friendly materials such as yarn and leather. Due to its coolness and lightness it is very popular and always used in hot seasons. Hurami Giveh has been official Kurdi foot wearing for long time.
